Prompt: "As the bird whose owner just died"

I try to reach him,
But I know it's too late,
Pretending to be trapped,
Was this the only way;

The cage is my guard,
My ribs the enemy,
My only friend in life,
Lying dead so close to me.

He fed my soul,
I held my breath,
And mercilessly,
I brought him death,

Now I must fly,
For this poems over,
I am a little bird,
And I killed my owner.

Berger say what?

What actually is wrong, when you're not on the same page with a person, but you think you are? If two people look like they like each other, enjoy doing things together and get along really well together, how big is the problem, if one of them isn't just that into the other? I was just watching the sixth season of Sex and the City and what that Berger guy did seriously bugged me. He was the one saying sorry. He was the one bringing the flowers and he was the one apologising. But eventually it turns out, he was the one that just wasn't that into Carrie. But the thing is, this doesn't only happen in TV shows. You feel like you've clicked with a person, you share the same interests and seem really compatible but it just doesn't happen. I can't help but wonder, do those people shut themselves because it actually is perfect? One way or another, Carrie-ing the situation and waiting for that Big moment is the right thing to do, because a Berger ain't gonna make you look good forever!

That time of the year!

Its THIMUN again! Heels, scarves and fluffy sweaters are set, all I need to do is to jump on the plane this saturday so that it can take me to the oh so missed The Hague! Normally we were going to go to Australia these two weeks to enjoy the sun and be with the family, but I just couldn't let go of Holland. I couldn't take the feeling of knowing that my friends would be having fun in Ned Kelly's without me and even though I would be in a sunny beach in Australia, it would bug me a little. However, I'm very glad that I'm going to Holland for the third time. I don't know why but the past two times, I didn't bring a proper camera so all I have are Instagram photos. But this time I'm taking my Canon and DianaF+ with me in order to have clear and artsy (you can't help it with Diana though) pictures worth saving. This time we will go around Amsterdam and see what there is to see like actual tourists rather than THIMUN soldiers, (hungover and tired.) Our plan for Amsterdam is as follows:

1.Sex Museum
I know it doesn't sound that charming but it actually is. It's very interesting and funny. Plus, it takes like 10 minutes to go around so, not a very big deal.

2.Red Light District
Yup, this is the part where ugly (wo)men in disturbing lingerie tap on the windows of their small glass cabin, inviting men inside for a little party. It's not very pleasant but it's interesting. And since it's on our way, there's no point in taking another street.

3.Anne Frank House
After reading the "Diary of a Young Girl", I always had the feeling that I owed something to Anne. It was like she's a part of me. I know how bad she suffered and I want to make it up to her by visiting the museum. Plus, as I've recently read John Green's The Fault in our Stars (not his best book obviously but worth the time), I really want to see the place Hazel and August have their first kiss.

4.Hard Rock Cafe
I believe that in order for a person to fully tour the city, Hard Rock has to be visited. Also, as I have a friend that collects pins from HRC's all around the world, I don't think she'd let us walk past it. (Hello Deniz <3)

5.Bloemenmarkt
Leaving Holland without having seen a flower market would be a shame. (PS: I bought tulip seeds last year and they turned out fabulous, so I'm planning on doing the same thing again)

6.Vlaamaw Frites Huis (wtf??)
Holland=Fries. No need of another word.

7.DeBijenkorf
A girl gotta do her shopping too you know. Also the muffin counter on the first floor is ugh-mazing

Shopaholic or Christmas Lover?

Even in a country that doesn't celebrate it, christmas shopping is always fun! Today, I spent 2 whole hours running around the shopping mall in my oh-so-comfortable loafers and purse; looking for gifts. I returned home with exactly 13 bags, and trust me, they weren't so small. I'm not going to write what I got, knowing that people for whom I got gifts might be stalking me (gotcha). I don't know if it's because I'm a huge winter-lover or because I love fluffy sweaters, snow and the colour red! Either way, I'll never be the normal kind of foreigner that ignores the rest of the worlds traditions and holidays. I just can't resist the urge to sit down with reindeer printed socks and listen to soothing Christmas Hits such as "Let it snow", "Jingle-bell Rock" and of course, my ultimate favourite, "All I want for christmas is you"! But with all this, I just can't decide if it's normal or pretentious for someone to celebrate Christmas in a country that doesn't celebrate it. Even if I'm considered a wannabe, I shall not spend a winter without the coziness of a Christmas jumper or the creaminess of a Starbucks Christmas-special toffee nut latte.

PS: I have, as you might've already seen, decided to use this blog as a normal blog rather than just a "fashion" blog. But of course there will be fashion, it's inevitable!

Now, let's get to the topic. I don't know how, but I ended up in "http://www.savethechildren.org.uk/designerchristmasjumpers". This site is holding up an auction for nothing other than designer christmas sweaters! My fave 3 words combined. And they are not just sweaters, they're by british fashion designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Burberry or Alexander McQueen! So, you have to go on the site and make a bid on your favourite sweater. 84p of each entry goes to save the children too. The lowest unique bid wins! I just love the idea. Even though I'm not sure if it works outside the UK, I'm sure as hell trying to get the McQueen one!

Here are my favourites:

Until the next time,

Cheers,

M
