Shopaholic or Christmas Lover?

Even in a country that doesn't celebrate it, christmas shopping is always fun! Today, I spent 2 whole hours running around the shopping mall in my oh-so-comfortable loafers and purse; looking for gifts. I returned home with exactly 13 bags, and trust me, they weren't so small. I'm not going to write what I got, knowing that people for whom I got gifts might be stalking me (gotcha). I don't know if it's because I'm a huge winter-lover or because I love fluffy sweaters, snow and the colour red! Either way, I'll never be the normal kind of foreigner that ignores the rest of the worlds traditions and holidays. I just can't resist the urge to sit down with reindeer printed socks and listen to soothing Christmas Hits such as "Let it snow", "Jingle-bell Rock" and of course, my ultimate favourite, "All I want for christmas is you"! But with all this, I just can't decide if it's normal or pretentious for someone to celebrate Christmas in a country that doesn't celebrate it. Even if I'm considered a wannabe, I shall not spend a winter without the coziness of a Christmas jumper or the creaminess of a Starbucks Christmas-special toffee nut latte.

PS: I have, as you might've already seen, decided to use this blog as a normal blog rather than just a "fashion" blog. But of course there will be fashion, it's inevitable!

Now, let's get to the topic. I don't know how, but I ended up in "http://www.savethechildren.org.uk/designerchristmasjumpers". This site is holding up an auction for nothing other than designer christmas sweaters! My fave 3 words combined. And they are not just sweaters, they're by british fashion designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Burberry or Alexander McQueen! So, you have to go on the site and make a bid on your favourite sweater. 84p of each entry goes to save the children too. The lowest unique bid wins! I just love the idea. Even though I'm not sure if it works outside the UK, I'm sure as hell trying to get the McQueen one!

Here are my favourites:

Until the next time,

Cheers,

Winter is coming!

Sitting in that same old couch with a pair of tight sweatpants, eating a high-cal candy bar and watching the same Keeping Up With the Kardashians episode for the 5th time ? That, my friend, is a sign that you should get up, go to the nearest gym and take your fave healthy food on a date. Because winter isn't the season to gain all the weight lost in summer. But the thing is, I still can go out with a jumper and not get cold. I wonder if it's just me or the seasons disappearing because of the global warming. But still, it was about time that I made a weight-calender. Enough with the weight talks. For me, winter is Starbucks' red paper cups, Gingerbread-men, snowflake-patterned clothes, warm and huge jumpers, fireplaces, watching the Harry Potter series for the 100th time, Doc Martens, colourful beanies etc.

I just had the time to ask myself what this post had to do with fashion, but eh, whatever! This is what I'm feeling.

STELLA MCCARTNEY RESORT 2014

Stella McCartney is one of my personal favourites and nope, not only because she is the daughter of Paul McCartney. My discovery of Stella was a few years ago when I was flipping through the pages of Vogue and suddenly saw those sparkling pair of shoes which were as heavenly as they had a halo over them. I then searched through the web and found out more about her. The moment I found out that she was the daughter of Paul McCartney, as I was in a Beatles-era kinda year, my level of respect and love for her became as uncountable as Bryan Boy's shoes! Today, as I was wondering around style dot com, I decided to go through Resort 2014 collections and as a mistake I clicked on Stella McCartney. What a lovely mistake that was! This collection of hers was created for "a woman with a snake tattoo" to wear. The snake patterns, the simplistic but somehow hipster dresses and the pins were most certainly not designed for an ordinary woman with a monotonous style to wear. I love the way she used the colour red which, for the woman with the tattoo, is representing fire but in such a way that it collides with love and passion with the aid of the thin lips and the hearts. Plus, even though I'm not a big fan of snake-skin-patterned clothes, the coats and the dresses of this collection were designed in such a simplistic way that it almost seems as the model herself is the snake. I must admit, I am in love with this collection. But who wouldn't be?

BRADSHAW BABE

With her over-the-knee skirts, Manolo Blahnik studs, crop tops, trench coats, long fluffy dresses, duffle bags, cosmopolitans, passion for shoes, amazing ability to analyse, adventures with the lovely Mr. Big and the stunning column; Carrie Bradshaw has always been and will always be my one and only idol. Not only she is fabulous, she is also really smart. I'd pretty much do anything to walk down the streets of New York with Carrie Bradshaw talking about Mr.Big or Aiden "Smoking Hot" Shaw with our fabulous outfits with Fendi purses and D&G shoes. Even though Miss Carrie Bradshaw isn't real, I still very strongly believe that she is one of the most stunning style icons of all times. Every time I watch an episode of Sex and the City, I find myself planning how my life would be if I were Carrie Bradshaw. And I really wonder if, a diva even without the character, the wonderful Sarah Jessica Parker ever wishes she was Carrie. The bad news is she never actually will be Carrie Bradshaw even though I personally would still be fan-girling if she wasn't Sarah and was Carrie. The good news is she's going to be teaming up with the Manolo Blahnik CEO George Malkemus to work on a new collection of shoes, bags and trench coats. Sarah Jessica Parker said that in a silly way, she thought, Carrie Bradshaw would be proud. I, personally, am very eager to see if the actresses style is compatible with Carrie Bradshaw's. Because honestly, Manolo Blahnik or Dolce, New York City or Ohio, Mr.Big or Matthew Broderick and Carrie Bradshaw or Sarah Jessica Parker; it doesn't really matter because at the end of the day they're both fabulous. And I must say, if I were to have a secret-girl-crush; it would totally be on her!

ARMANI PRIVE FALL 2013 COUTURE

"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." said Leonardo da Vinci. I believe that in our rapidly changing world, this wonderful quotation is always suitable to say. And this time it is suitable to associate the notion of simplicity with Giorgio Armani's Armani Privé 2013 Fall Couture collection which he personally likes to call "nude". The big jackets, humble bags and the skirts look as if they are a part of the models body. If any of these models were to be put on top of a hill, in the arms of mother nature, she would look more natural than the nature itself. This collection is so not the usual "look-at-me" glam, but surprisingly it does make people stare with big eyes, all approving the experiment of Giorgio Armani. I would like to say as I am staring at the collection with big eyes myself, I find in this collection elegance, old Hollywood, tranquility and of course, modesty. I think it's fabulous.

MILEY CYRUS BY TERRY RICHARDSON

Do you ever have that moment in life when you're sipping your green tea while reading Marie Claire and suddenly your eyes go through the well-chosen sparkling collage of words as you say to yourself: "I want to write like that too!" Just when I had a moment like that I remembered, "I have an abandoned, sad fashion blog!" After 10 painful minutes of choosing a new name for this blog, I decided to go with: "Green Tea & Vanity" but if you ask me why, I have absolutely no idea. I think it just came instinctively because I am a huge fan of green tea and what a surprise, Lady GaGa's Vanity is stuck in my head for days. Now if I may suggest, go get yourself a cup of tea and open your eyes because I am back in town and I'm not planning on leaving soon!

As a welcome back post I would like to introduce my favourite fashion photographer, secret-celebrity-crush & role model: Terry Richardson. He was born in New York in the summer of 65' as Terrence Richardson and discovered his passion, photography obviously, when he was in high school. This time his guest was Miley Cyrus and I must say, she is looking complete in front of his classic white wall. Just 2 years ago if I heard the name Miley Cyrus, my first reaction would be "Hannah Montana?" but nowadays with her short gorgeous blonde hair and not-so-humble style, she is so far away from being that teenage pop star with the goofy clothes. Honestly I had no idea that the hair and the attitude could change this beauty from a Disney star to an actual diva.
